Carrol Ranton

Funeral services for Carolen "Carrol" G. Hooper Ranton, 76, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Callisburg cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at the funeral home.


Carrol was born on April 13, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Burton and Parthenia Agnes (Marshall) Caldwell. She passed away in her home surrounded by her family on February 17, 2014 in Gainesville.


Carrol is survived by her daughter Patty A. Murphy and her husband Thomas Seman of Las Vegas, NV.; son Benny L. Hooper and his wife Sheila Mason Hooper of Callisburg; grandchildren Stephanie "Anie" Kinser and her husband Craig of North Carolina, Geoffrey Grove of Nevada, Benjamin Hooper and his wife Brooke of El Paso, and Elisha Van Deventer and her husband Joe of Grapevine; great-grandchildren Zachary Kinser and Evan Kinser of North Carolina.


She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Jack Hooper in 1993; husband Lewis Ranton in 2006; sister Virginia Caldwell Morton; brother Gary Caldwell; and sister Deloris Caldwell.


Pallbearers will be Benny Hooper, Sheila Hooper, Benjamin Hooper, Elisha Van Deventer, Joe Van Deventer, Craig Kinser, and Patty Murphy.


Honorary pallbearers will be Anie Kinser, Zachary Kinser, Evan Kinser, Thomas Seman, Benny Mason, and Geoffrey Grove.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Carrol's name.
