Charles "Butch" Links

Memorial services for Charles “Butch” Links, 69, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Friday, March 14, 2014 with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating.

Mr. Links passed away March 9, 2014 in Denton.

Butch was born May 18, 1944 in Gainesville, to Charlie L. and Chloe Gladys Links.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 - 1969. He married Barbara Anne Watson on December 22, 1977 in Saginaw.  Butch was a professional golfer for ClubCorp for 15 years and at the Gainesville Municipal Golf Course from 1986 to 2005.  He also played for the PGA Senior Tour in the late 1990’s.

Butch is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Links of Gainesville; son Charles Linden Links III of Euless; daughter and son-in-law Julia Joann and Marcus Sewell of Sherman.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Mr. Links was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Margie Williams; sister Billie Giles; sister Jane Siegmund.
