Ruth Bennett

Graveside services for Ruth Bennett, 74 of Gainesville are set for 10:00 AM in the Oak Grove Cemetery on Saturday, April 12, 2014 with Pastor Ricky Kerr and Captain Stephen Barnes officiating.  Burial will following in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation is set for Friday, April 11 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Geo. J.Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruth Bennett died Sunday, April 6, 2014

Mrs. Bennett was born June 7, 1939 in Gainesville to Scott and Lilly Insel.

She was preceded in her death by her loving husband of 57 years, Clyde Bennett.

Survivors include her children:  David and Karla Bennett, Andy and Kathy Barnes, and Steve & DeAnn Bennett; grandchildren:  Chris and Jennifer Bennett, Bryce Bennett, Stephen and Britney Barnes, Stuart Barnes, Shaun Bennett, and Braeden Bennett; great-grandchildren:  Blake and Courtney (Bennett) Hunter, Taylor, Seth and Jacob Bennett.  Mrs. Bennett was anticipating the arrival of  her first great-great-grandchild, Greyson Laine Hunter in May.  She is also survived by her one sister Pauline Craddock; one sister-in-law Sylvia Bennett of Gainesville; her nephew Jim Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her siblings William Insel, James ”Hank” Insel and Katherine Geisinger.

Pallbearers will be her six grandsons: Chris, Bryce, Shaun, & Braeden Bennett and Stephen & Stuart Barnes.
