Funeral services for Larry Gene Mauldin, 73, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev Lonnie Dodson and Rev. Frank Lorne officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. No visitation is planned.

Larry was born in Sivells Bend on May 15, 1941 to William Howard and Mabel (Jones) Mauldin. He passed away on May 21, 2014 in Gainesville.

Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carole of Gainesville; daughter Rhonda Sutherland and her husband Tony of Whitesboro; son Gene Mauldin and his wife Sherri of Gainesville; grandchildren Neely Joyce, Jace Joyce, Keifer Mauldin, and Justin Stradley; great-grandchildren Raeli Medina, Emma Mauldin, River Joyce, and Kyndal Joyce. brother Leon Mauldin and his wife Patsy of Collinsville; sister Rosemary Middleton of Rusk, sister Dollie Boyd of Gainesville; sister Dorothy Woolderink and her husband Garrett of Valley View; and sister Linda Mathews and her husband Tony of Meridian.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother William "Pete" Mauldin; sister Ruth Hoover; and brother Harry Mauldin.
