Norma Jean Dotson

Funeral service for Norma ( Dänä ) Jean Dotson 75, will be held on Monday August 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Jarrell and Rev. Danny Walter officating with burial to follow in the New Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday August 10, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Norma went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 6, 2014 at her home.

Norma was born on February 2, 1939 in Oceola, Iowa to Norman and Clara Bell Zimmerman Chipp. She married Lonnie E. Dotson on August 18, 1966 and moved to Cooke County, Tx on or about August 20, 1966. she loved her God first and foremost. She witnessed and told everyone she met about her Lord. He was the first thing she talked about at the start of her day and the last thing she would post on facebook when she said goodnight. she was a loving Wife, Mother, Dänä, and aunt to not just her family, but to everyone who she met or was in her life for more than a minute. She never met a stranger and she always said," I don't shake hands, I GIVE HUGS"

Norma is survived by her husband Lonnie Dotson, son Duane Dotson and his wife Jo of Sherwood Shores two daughters Jacqueline Briley and her husband Chad of Gainesville and Tonja Tate and her fiance' Tim KIng of Gainesville, and grandson Erick Ray Dotson and his wife Britny of Woodbine, brothers Harold, Tommy, Steven and Herb Chipp, sister Hazel Showers and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by daughter Deanna Jean Cagle, sons Joseph Brian Dotson and Norman Ray Dotson , her parents, brothers Carl and Eldon Chipp and sister Portcia Chipp.

She is also survived by adopted children Thomas and Sherry Cagle, Jeff and Tina Cagle. Ronnie and Nancy Cagle, Charles and Pam Albright and Debbie Bufkin all of Arkansas and Roberta Jo and Chuck Dattellas of Arizona and preceded in death by adopted children Chystal and Donald Cagle.

Pallbearers will be Josh Dotson, Randy Sikes, Erick Dotson, Corey Tate, Michael Flewallen, Brian Woody, Aaron Morris and Eric Johnston. You may sign the on line registry at geojcarroll.com
