Wanda Ruth Corley Burkhart

Wanda Ruth Corley Burkhart was born July 11, 1940, in Gorman, and she passed from this life on August 22, 2014, in Rosston.

In her youth, she loved to help build and race go-carts. She also loved to go camping, fishing and finding "hidden treasures" at yard sales and flea markets. She had worked for an insurance agency for a few years located in Denton. And for about 20 years, she worked as an office manager for a doctor's office, also located in Denton.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Willard & Ruth Israel Stevens, her first and second husbands, Bill Thomas & L.C. Corley and step son John Burkhart.

Wanda is survived by her third husband, Jeirl Burkhart; son, Steven E. Thomas; daughter, Tricia and husband Benny M. Garrett; 3 granddaughters, Stacie and husband Justin Purcella, Courtney and husband Travis Zuber and Brittney Garrett; 1 great-grandson, Ryan Zuber; 1 great-granddaughter, Emma Purcella; 1 aunt and 1 uncle; and numerous cousins. Her step-children are Derek Burkhart, Craig and wife Sylvia Burkhart, Melissa and husband James Pultz, Melinda Sanker and Husband Rob Leahy. Her step-grandchildren are Seth Burkhart, Christian Burkhart, Olivia Burkhart, Adrian Burkhart, Sophie Burkhart, Logan Pultz, Zachery Pultz.

She was loved and admired by her family.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, 10:00 am at Oak Grove Cemetery, with Chaplain Cherie Fry officiating. Directions to Oak Grove Cemetery: Turn on CR 219 off of FM 678 near Woodbine. The cemetery will be on your left after about 1/2 mile.
