Funeral service for Frankie Laster 84, of Gainesville are set for Thursday October 16, 2014 at 2;00 p.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Jones and Robert Kelley officiating with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Frankie passed away on October 13, 2014 in Gainesville, Tx.
Frankie was born on September 26, 1930 in Conroe, Tx to J.R. and Lucy Cain West. She married A.L. Laster Jr. on Jan. 10, 1951 and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and was a current member of the Son Rise Church. Frankie retired from the G.I.S.D. after years of teaching and educating young people and her influence is still felt among her former students today. She was a longtime member of the P.E.O. Chapter A and her hobbies included traveling, reading and most of all showing how much she loved her family by her cooking and baking.
Frankie loved her family and is survived by her children Mark Laster and his wife Margie, Greg Laster and his wife Laurette, William Laster Sr. and Leah Jeffries and her husband David, grandchildren Carrie Menzie and her husband Mark, Rachel Neu and her husband Brian ,Benjamin Laster, Sharon Aguilar and her husband Dario, Jessica Laster , Rebecca Laster, William Laster Jr., Chris Laster, Sarah Terry and her husband Tye and Mary Jefferies. Great grandchildren Kade and Cole Branson, Madeline and Eleanor Neu, Enoch and Esther Laster, Abigail, Tabitha, Luke and Aaron Aguilar, Kayla Sandmann, Audrey and Ava Shirley and Kaci Terry. and sister in law Martha Laster and nephew Tom West. She was preceded in death by her husband A.L. Laster Jr., son John Charles Laster, brother Charles West and brother in law Gene Laster.
