Services for Delton Winters, 84, will be conducted on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son chapel, with Rev. Jerry Jones of Whaley United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2014 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son chapel.
Delton Winters was born April 28, 1930 in Alva, Oklahoma to Ralph and Joye Winters. He graduated from Medicine Lodge, Kansas High School in 1948, and followed in his father's footsteps, going to work in the oil field industry. He began his career with J. M. Huber Oil Company, taking leave to serve in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, attaining the rank of Corporal. Upon discharge from the Army, he resumed his employment with J. M. Huber.
He married Constance (Branson) Winters in Holyoke, Colorado in 1950, and they had five children: Barbara (Winters) Cox, Diana (Winters) Dulock, Steven Wayne Winters, Brenda (Winters) Hinkle, and Jeffrey Dean Winters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance, in 1968.
He married Elaine (Scott) Winters in 1981. Delton retired from J. M. Huber in 1985. He and Elaine enjoyed traveling with their friends with the Good Sam Club. Several years after his retirement, Delton began employment with Bell Supply Company.
Delton was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Joye Winters, his wife, Constance Winters, and two brothers, Verdon Winters and Duke Winters.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, and his children, Barbara (Winters) Cox of Gainesville, Texas, Diana (Winters) Dulock of Lindsay, Texas, Steven Wayne Winters and Brenda (Winters) Hinkle of Gainesville, Texas, and Jeffrey Dean Winters of Sherman, Texas, and one brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Effie Winters, of Dayton, Ohio. He also survived by 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
