Hugh Howard Morrison

Funeral services for Hugh Howard Morrison, 80, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, with Ben Willingham and David Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Collinsville Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the funeral home, one hour before the service.

Hugh was born on November 22, 1934 in Gainesville to Joseph Joshua and Alice Lynn (Haney) Morrison. He passed away on January 22, 2015 in Gainesville.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Gainesville; daughter Diane Hutchinson of Gainesville; daughter Gwen Elmes and her husband Patrick of Arlington; son Doug Morrison and his wife Lorie of Gainesville; grandchildren Kayla Eggenberger and her husband Joey, Brittany Petruska and her husband Christopher, Danielle Elmes, Wes Morrison, Carlie Hutchinson, and Ranee Morrison; great-grandchildren Taylor Petruska, Adalie Petruska, Emilia Eggenberger, and Claire Eggenberger. He is also survived by his brother D.L. "Danny" Morrison and his wife Jean of Gainesville; bother-in-law Lewis Cox of Gainesville; aunt Ellen Bush of Gainesville; and numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents; brother Glenn Dale Morrison; and sister Clara Cox.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Wallace, Joe Webb, Keith Pearson, Dwayne Dennis, John Grussell, and Johnny Bryan. Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Canaday, and R.D. Thomas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County, Hillcrest Church of Christ building fund, or the Stanford House.
