Peter Robinson, 95, of Lake Kiowa, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Denton Regional Medical Center. Rosary and visitation will be Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Geo. J. Carroll chapel. Mass will be Monday, February 16, 2015, 10 am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gainesville with Fr. Gary Picou officiating.. With burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
Peter was born January 10, 1920, in Pelham, New Hampshire, to Catherine and Simon Robinson. He came to Gainesville with the US Army and was stationed at Camp Howze. While at Camp Howze, he met and married Ruth Dawson of Rolfe, Iowa.
A few of his involvements were Scout Master in Gainesville, a director of Lumbermen’s Association of Texas, President of Joe Walter Lumber Co, Gainesville, and Trustee of the First United Methodist Church, Gainesville. Peter was an avid golfer at Lake Kiowa and other local courses.
He was survived by sister Victoria Kolodziej, daughter Kay Moreland and husband George of Benbrook, Texas, and son Tom Robinson and wife Lana of Gainesville. Grandchildren Karin Kontak, Lewis Moreland, Brandon Moreland, Chad Robinson, nine great-grandchildren, and eleven nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Chad Robinson, Lewis Moreland, Brandon Moreland, Riley Moreland, Tom Letter and Danny Deaton.
