Ruth Mae Schlaudroff went to her Heavenly Home to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 14, 2015.
Ruth was born at the Talihina Indian Hospital, Talahina, Oklahoma, on July 29, 1940 to Earl Coleman and Bessie Taylor.
Ruth was raised by her full-blood Mississippi Choctaw Grandparents, Frank and Lulie, along with four other grandchildren, Lucille Wallace, Larine James, Faye Taylor, and Lulie Youngdeer as sisters.
Ruth attended Durwood, Oklahoma Public School from 1st through 8th grade, 9th grade in Springer, Oklahoma, and graduated high school from Madill Senior High in Madill, Oklahoma in 1958. Ruth began working for Western Supply in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and then on to the I.R.S. in Dallas, Texas, Field Employment Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Dallas, Texas, Ardmore Indian Agency, Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Chickasaw Indian Agency, Ada, Oklahoma, where she retired with 30 years of Government service.
Ruth married Richard Schlaudroff of Gainesville, Texas, and moved to Gainesville in 1976. Richard worked as a Gainesville Police Department CID investigator for several years until his death on December 6, 1999.
Ruth loved to read, gospel singing, baking, and visiting with family and friends. She taught Senior Women's Sunday School Class at Southside Baptist Church in Gainesville for 25 years, which she was a faithful member for over 30 years. Ruth also worked temporarily for Precinct 1 JP Dorthy Lewis, Meals on Wheels, and then on to work for the Gainesville Factory Shops as the information booth.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Richard, and her special nephew, Merritt "Bub" Youngdeer Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, husbands, and grandchildren Dawn Burgan and husband Mike and granddaughter Aubrey Lynn Estes of Gainesville, Texas; Kelly Underwood and husband Faron, and granddaughters Alyssa and Kyla Underwood of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Sister Lulie Youngdeer and husband Merritt of Cherokee, North Carolina; niece Connie O'Neill of Groton, South Dakota; niece Lauren Armachain of Cherokee, North Carolina; and niece Audra Vogel of Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Funeral service will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Tatum, Larry Muller, Tommy Langston, Kyle Walker, Micheal Estes, and Larry Ballou.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Solaris Hospice, or any Hospice of your choice.
We rejoice in her reunion with Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her mother, grandparents, and all kinfolks who have went before her.
