Charles Oliver Whiteley

A graveside service for Charles Oliver Whiteley, 66, of Gainesville, is set for 11:00 AM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. No formal visitation is planned.

Charles was born in Texon on September 22, 1948 to Lillard Merel and LaVerne Bonnie (Lovell) Whiteley. He passed away on May 30, 2015 in Gainesville.

Charles graduated high school in Rankin in 1966. He served in the US Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1968-1973. Charles worked in the oilfields in west Texas before settling in Gainesville 25 years ago.

He is survived by his daughter Amy Swiney of Midland; three granchildren; twin brother Mike Whiteley of Gainesville; sister Carolyn Owens of Paris; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
