Marcella Streng

December 15, 1956 — July 4, 2015

Funeral mass for Marcella Mary Streng, 58, of Lindsay, will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Petta officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Marcella passed away in Denton July 4, 2015. She was born December 15, 1956 in Gainesville, to Lawrence and Olivia Dulock Streng.

Marcella graduated from Lindsay High School in 1975. She has been a continuous member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay.

She worked for many years in the dress factories in Muenster and Gainesville. Later, she began preparing food in local restaurants.

Marcella enjoyed being outdoors in her yard and garden. She would pick pecans each fall and shell them to share with her family at Christmas.

She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her pumpkin bread was a holiday favorite.
Marcella would decorate her yard for every holiday and season. Each year she would treat her nieces, nephews, and their children to special parties for Halloween and Christmas.

Planning for annual garage sales, reading and putting together puzzles were some of her other pastimes.

Trips to Sycamore Lake with her sister Shirley and outings to the zoo, museums and other day trips with her niece were special to her.

Marcella is survived by her sister Shirley Nagy of Lindsay; sister and brother-in-law LaVerna and John Ray Loeffelholz of Yukon, OK; sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Walter Lutkenhaus of Lindsay; nieces Sabrina Wolf, Laura Fisher, and Donna Neu; nephews Matthew, James, Philip, and David Loeffelholz and George and Michael Lutkenhaus; 17 great nieces and nephews; 2 great-great nieces and nephews.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents Ben and Katie Streng, Albert and Josephine Dulock and her brother-in-law Miklos Nagy.

Pall bearers for the service are: David, Philip, Matthew, and James Loeffelholz, Michael and George Lutkenhaus, Brad Wolf, and Jimmy Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Divine Providence, Our Lady of the Lake, 515 SW 24th St., San Antonio, TX 78207-4619.
