Funeral service for Dr. James Vernon Graham ( Doc ) 80, of Gainesvile are set for Thursday August 6, 2015 at 10;00 a.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Chapel with the Rev. Larry Kremling officiating with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 5, 2015 from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. James passed away on August 3, 2015 in Denton, Tx.

James was born on August 5, 1934 in Gainesville, Tx to Albert and Nancy Penton Graham. Doc graduated from Gainesville High School, Cooke County Junior College, University of Texas and University of Texas School of Dentistry.. James served in the United States Army. James married Karen Tompkins on May 15, 1982 in Gainesville, Tx. He was a member of the First United Methodist of Gainesville, lifetime member of the Masonic Temple of Gainesville, lifetime member of the Gainesville Optimist Club and loved playing cards with his mother in law Wanda Coker and sister in law Jean Coker.

James is survived by his wife Karen Graham, daughter Jackie Lane, grandchildren Kari, Austin ,Ellie and Jon Paul, brother in law Don Carter, mother in law Wanda Coker and sister in law Jean Coker.

James was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Flora Marie Graham, son Jason Tompkins, one brother and four sisters. Pallbearers will be Robert Boone, Steve Boone, Dale Gray, Billy Hudspeth, Gary Dodson and Van Knight. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Central Texas Scholarship Fund.
