Funeral services for Mary Frances Massengale Abernathy, 82, of Gainesville, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, August 21, 2015 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Abernathy passed away August 19, 2015 in Gainesville. She was born October 12, 1932 to W. O. and Emma Trusty Massengale in Lindsay.
Mary is survived by her children Roger of Gainesville, Emma of Gainesville, Mary Ruth of Sanger, and Kenneth of Fort Worth. She is also survived by her sister Willie Mae of Gainesville; sister Lorene of Bowie; brother John of St. Jo; brother James of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; daughter Patsy.
Pallbearers will be Quention, Jimmy, Robert, Nate, Fred, and Chris.
