Blanche Helen Saunders

Graveside services for Blanche Helen Saunders, 85, of Fort Worth, are set for 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in the Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Dr. James Egan officiating. No visitation is planned.

Mrs. Saunders passed away September 2, 2015 in Fort Worth. She was born May 13, 1930 in Holland, TX to George Scott and Helen Sedonia Schmidt Wallace.

Blanche is survived by her son Scott Saunders of Monument, CO; grandson Graham Saunders of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson Austin Saunders of Sarasota, FL; grandson Jarrett Shields of Fort Worth. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Jo and Ralph Bullard of Gainesville; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd “Pete” Saunders; son Russel Saunders; sister Virginia Ernst.

Blanche was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed gardening. She loved spending time boating and just being by the water. She always looked forward to attending various theatrical plays in New York when she had the opportunity. Above all else, she relished her time with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, American Diabetes Association, and Texas A&M University.
