Funeral services for Richard Lee Templin, 86, of Lake Kiowa, is set for Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the DFW National Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 9:15 AM. No visitation is planned.

Richard was born on April 21, 1929 in Anthony, Kansas to Daniel C. and Buelah Mae ( Huddleston) Templin. He passed away on September 15, 2015 in Denison.

Richard graduated from Anthony High School in 1947. He attended Wichita University in Wichita, Kansas, and entered the United States Navy in 1948. Richard served his country for twenty years, and went on to work in the engineering field until his retirement in 2014. Richard and Nita were married in 2001 and made their home in Lake Kiowa since 2002. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville and was a member of the Young At Heart Class.

He is survived by his wife Nita Faye Templin of Lake Kiowa; daughter Lora Delaney and husband Ross of Colebrook, CT.; daughter Lisa Templin-Mack and husband Donald of Uncassville, CT.; daughter Leslie Fournier and former husband Jonathan Fournier of Norwich, CT.; daughter Lita Sewer and husband Conrad of Tampa, FL.; step-daughter Louann Lemmond and husband Harvey of Rockwall; granchildren Ryan Mack and wife Chloe of Portland, OR.; Jacob Fornier, Katie Fournier of Norwich, CT.; Dylan Shannon of Lake Kiowa; Shannon Tumlinson and husband Greg of Garland; Russell Beach and wife Katie of Wylie; and Bridget Greene of Tioga. He is also survived by his brother Bob Templin and wife Nancy of Wichita,KS.; sister-in-law Dorthy Templin of Pittsburg, KS; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jack A. Templin; sister Betty Jean Templin; and step-son Douglas Shannon.
