Clifton Earl Humphries

A memorial service for Clifton Earl Humphries Jr., 82, of Gainesville, is set for 2:00 PM Friday, 25, 2015 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. No visitation is planned.

Clifton was born on July 22, 1933 in Watt, Texas to Clifton Earl Humphries Sr. and Rutha Mae (Spivey) Humphries. He passed away on September 22, 2015 in Gainesville.

He was a veteran of the US Navy serving aboard the USS Bausell during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife Joy Flowers Humphries of Gainesville; daughter Marci Ross and her husband Larry of Midlothian; son Mitchell Humphries of Ft. Worth; daughter Ingrid Kniffin and her husband Calvin of Ft Worth; step-son Tim Ware and his wife Carol of Poetry; step-daughter Sandra Powers of Gainesville; step-daughter Peggy Dunn and her husband Robert of Valley View; twelve granchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother John Humphries and his wife Jeannie of Waco; sister Marilyn Paul of Ft Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Carolyn Humphries; step-son Morgan Ware; and two step-grandchildren.
