Gene Arthur Conner

Funeral services for Gene A. Conner, 75, of Gordonville, are set for 2:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, just prior to the service.

Gene passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 in Denton. He was born December 15, 1939 in Jacksboro to Melvin and Genevieve Ellen Sewell Conner.

Gene loved to read. He specifically enjoyed keeping up with the daily news by reading newspapers. He also had a strong passion for reading about and studying Native American History. He enjoyed the sports of football and golf.

Mr. Conner is survived by his wife Nancy Sue Conner of Gordonville; daughter Stephanie Rene' Conner of Keller; son Steven Pence of Gordonville; son John Pence of Gordonville; son Ronnie Pence of Gainesville; son Brandon Pence of White Settlement; grandchildren Devin Scott Schandorff of Keller, Johnathon Paul Bower of Keller, Lacey Jo Pence of Gordonville, Courtney Rae Pence of Gordonville; great-grandchildren Hannah Morren, Kenzie Morren, Ryder Morren, Bailey Pence. He is also survived by his sister Sandra Conner Riffe of Dallas; niece Leisa Burnett McKibbin of Dallas; great-nephew Conner Joseph McKibbin of Dallas.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents.
