Billie Jo Dyer

Graveside services for Billie Jo (Miller) Dyer, 89, of Valley View, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Valley View Cemetery with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating.


Mrs. Dyer passed away October 10, 2015 in Gainesville. She was born October 7, 1926 in Gainesville to Earnest Eugene and Elfie (Gibson) Miller.


Mrs. Dyer was a native of Cooke County, a long-time resident of Valley View, and devoted member of First Baptist Church in Valley View. When Camp Howze was functional she was a switchboard operator in Gainesville. Mrs. Dyer was a kind and generous woman who contributed to many charitable endeavors. She enjoyed needlework, reading, and took great pride in maintaining her landscaping.


Survivors include: daughter, Nelda Jo Speed of Lewisville; son, Randy Lee Nickerson and wife, Ava of Valley View; son, Jimmy Lynn Nickerson and wife, Susie of Valley View; grandson, Collin Speed; grandson, Jarrod Speed and wife, Danielle; grandson, Jordan Nickerson; grandson, Joel Nickerson and wife, Jessica; grandson, Josh Nickerson; granddaughter, Kristin Nanney and husband, Baylen; granddaughter, Ashlee Long and husband, Anthony; and eight great-grandchildren.


Mrs. Dyer was preceded in death by: husband, Robert Dyer; her parents; and brothers: Eugene Miller, James Miller, and Lynn Dale (Buzzy) Miller.
