Ethel Faye Ware

Ethel “Faye” Nanny Ware of Woodbine, TX, was born to William Horace Smith and Emma Mae Walden on December 30, 1931 in Dallas, TX. She was raised in Highland Park, TX where she attended Bradley Elementary and Highland Park High School.

Faye passed away Oct. 7, 2015 at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, TX.

Faye worked for many years in the garment industry as a sales representative for Scoville-Namm Singer of New York. She later owned her own company supplying notions for the garment industry in the Dallas area.
After the death of her first husband Jack Nanny, she married Rad Ware and closed her company to live and work with him on the Ware Ranch of Woodbine, TX. She came to love the ranch that has been in her husband family since 1854 and has been honored by the “State of Texas” for 150 years of cattle ranching.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and both of her husbands. She is also preceded in death by her brother William Horace Smith, Jr. and sister Emma Mae Heslep, her daughter Janet Faye Ayres, and grandson Jack Nanny II.

She is survived by her daughter Jackie and husband Robert George of Woodbine, TX; son Leland and wife Veronica Nanny of Barefoot Bay, FL; and son William Nanny of Woodbine, TX. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
“We passed you into the arms of God until we are united again.”

A celebration of life will be held next summer at the ranch for family, friends , and neighbors.
