David Lee Scott

Funeral services for David Lee Scott, 67, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with David Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 10 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Scott passed away November 9, 2015 in Gainesville. He was born November 28, 1947 in Houston to Cecil Lee and Dorothy Marie (Reeves) Scott.

Many in the community will remember Mr. Scott from his innumerable contributions to the Gainesville Daily Register throughout his dedicated career of 41 years. Mr. Scott also appreciated music and enjoyed playing guitar with various bands over the years.

Survivors include: wife Karen Scott of Gainesville; daughter Amy Allen and husband Derek of Gainesville; grandchildren Lily and Layla; sister Lynette Cole and husband Lotice of Many, LA; and sister Sharon LaPaglia and husband Joe of Bryan.

Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Cecil Clinton Scott.
