A Mass of Christian Burial for Erwin Sylvester Fuhrmann, 92, of Lindsay, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Petta officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A Wake is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1 at St. Peter’s, with a visitation to follow at Conrad Hall.
Mr. Fuhrmann, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 in Muenster, surrounded by his wife and children, one day after his 92nd birthday. He was born November 28, 1923 in Lindsay to Mike and Mary (Mosser) Fuhrmann.
Mr. Fuhrmann and Clara Stoffels were married on November 3, 1948 at St. Peter’s and lived on a farm about 5 miles north of Lindsay their entire lives. They have 11 children, 35 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A dairy farmer for more than fifty years, Erwin was a good neighbor and friend to many. He was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and an officer of the St. Peter’s Society. More than anything, he loved farming and working beside his sons on the dairy. He cherished his family, and time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Clara Fuhrmann, Barbara Rohmer and her husband Don of Muenster, Joan Sedge and husband Ray of Denton, Elizabeth Baker and husband Philip of Denton, Arnold Fuhrmann and wife Cecilia of Lindsay, Diane Hermes and husband John of Lindsay, Martha Sicking and husband Allen of Muenster, Karen Davis and husband Kelly of Muenster, Denise Dangelmayr and husband Jack of Muenster, Alex Fuhrmann and wife Kathleen of Missouri City, Laura Neusch and husband James of Lindsay, and Ted Fuhrmann and wife Laura of Muenster. Grandchildren include: Leah Hodge, Kimberly, Nathan and Rose Hermes, Joseph, Andrew, Stephen, Isaac, Michael, Aaron, Mark, Thomas, and Sarah Davis, Crystal Bayer, Amber Harrison, Cletus and Abe Fuhrmann, Quinn, Devin and Shane Sicking, Jacob, Patricia and Shawna Neusch, John and Mary Baker, Jessica and Jena Dangelmayr, Heather, Kyle, and Dylan Fuhrmann, Levi, Julia, and Abigail Fuhrmann, along with step grandchildren Brent Sedge and Stefanie Hudson. Great-grandchildren include: Luke, Lewis, Gregory, Rafael, Konrad, Blaise, Camillus, George, Francis, Georganne, Edward, Sophie, Toby, Catherine, and Caleb. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mike and Mary (Mosser) Fuhrmann, and brothers and sisters Henry Fuhrmann, Anna Hartmann, Aloys Fuhrmann, Veronica Klement, Sister Henriann Fuhrmann, CDP, Sister Michael Marie Fuhrmann, CDP, John Fuhrmann, Val Fuhrmann, Father Aloys Fuhrmann, OSB, Regina Lewis, and Arnold Fuhrmann.
