Shirley Latham Crisp

April 24, 1945 — March 9, 2016

A funeral service for Shirley Latham Crisp, 70, of Frisco, longtime resident of Gainesville, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Bill Black officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crisp passed away March 9, 2016 in Frisco.

Shirley was born April 24, 1945 in Gainesville to Jesse Willie and Mattie Viola (Williams) Latham. She spent some of her childhood in Monahans but soon moved back to Gainesville. Shirley married Raymond Crisp on November 17, 1966 in Gainesville, where they raised their family. She worked at the Linda Joe Shoe Factory, Weber, Walmart, and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed bowling and accompanied her family on many camping and fishing trips. Most of all, Shirley took pleasure in her grandchildren, family get-togethers, and a good nap.

Survivors include: son Ricky Dale Burks and wife Christy of Gainesville; son Kenny Burks of Callisburg; daughter Cheryl Ann Stiggers and husband David of Frisco; grandchildren: Cammie, Jonathan, Clay, Justin, Cara, Brandon, Chelsie, Jodi, Ashley, Keri, Kaytline, Coby, Logan, and Tyson; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother Jimmy Latham and wife Melinda of Athens; sister-in-law Carolyn Bagwell of Gainesville; sister-in-law Barbara Bratcher and husband Ray of Thackerville, OK; brother-in-law Johnny Crisp and wife Faye of Gainesville; brother-in-law Billy Joe Crisp and wife Sherry of Gainesville; and brother-in-law Gerald Crisp and wife Jeri of Walnut Bend.

Mrs. Crisp was preceded in death by: husband Raymond Crisp; her parents; brother Charles Latham; brother Alfred Latham; sister Peggy Henry; sister-in-law Betty Gilleland; sister-in-law Pat Reynolds; and father and mother-in-law J.P. and Dolly Crisp.
