Clara Emmagene Williams was born on February 8, 1922 in Wichita Falls to Shelby and Jimmie May (Morgan) Williams. She died peacefully in Gainesville on July 21, 2016.
One of four children, Genie and her family eventually moved to Denton where the children attended school. She married Ike Story in Collin County and they had one child together, Bobby Jim Story. Genie, as she has been known to family and friends, was a good farm wife and mother. She was a great cook and loved to play cards with friends while living at Lake Kiowa. Genie cared greatly for her family and friends and had a sweet smile for all. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Gainesville.
Mrs. Story is survived by: sister Bernice Wilkinson-Smusz of Gainesville; granddaughter Stephanie Story of Denton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; son Bobby Jim Story; grandson Stephen Story; husband Ike Story; sister Margaret Miller; and brother Donald Williams.
A committal service will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery in Pilot Point at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26 under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at First Christian Church in Gainesville at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Loewen officiating. The service will be followed by a reception at the church.
The Elders and Deacons of First Christian Church will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Memorial Fund or Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter.
