Mary Joann Dozier

Funeral services for Mary JoAnn Dozier, 84, of Callisburg, are set for 10:30 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Callisburg Church of Christ with Ben Willingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Callisburg Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:30 - 4:30 PM Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Mary was born on February 11, 1932 in Von Ormy to Paul J. and Ella (Nuernberger) Elley. She passed away on July 22, 2016 in Callisburg.

Mary was a kindergarten teacher for 25 years in the Callisburg Independent School District.

Mary is survived by her husband of 66 years Earl Dozier of Callisburg; son Mark Dozier and his wife Brenda of San Marcos; son Billy Dozier and his wife Donna of Callisburg; daughter Vernetta Horn and her husband Sonny of Gainesville; grandchildren Kristy Covey and her husband Michael, Amanda Burlison and her husband Amasa, Brian Dozier and his wife Monica, Autumn Rohde and her husband Brian, and Jeff Dozier; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Lucille Smiley and her husband Tommy of San Antonio; sister Clarice Bauereis of Dallas; sister Roselie Philips of Dallas; sister Betty Caples of Duncanville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Neely Dozier; and brother John Elley.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Fellers, Craig Hough, Michael Lang, Mike Lang, Ken McClellan, and Gary Bloodworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Morrison, and M.A. Fennell.
