Marvin Ferdinand Rauschuber, the third child of Frank and Katherine (Hundt) Rauschuber, was born on September 17, 1925 on the same site where he died on July 27, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Rauschuber graduated from Valley View High School in 1943 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy the following year. He was stationed on the USS Bennington and USS Lake Champlain until 1946, when he was honorably discharged. Mr. Rauschuber married the love of his life, Josephine Bierschenk on April 18, 1951. He cherished his faith, family, and farm.
Survivors include: wife of 65 years, Josephine Rauschuber; seven children and their spouses: Frank and Barbara Rauschuber, Steve and Doris Rauschuber, Karen and Anthony Reed, Roy and Rhonda Rauschuber, Gayle and Mike Loch, Karla and Bob Ingram, and Don and Dianna Rauschuber; 25 grandchildren: Sharon, Casey, and Erica Rauschuber; Chris and Jennifer Rauschuber; Michelle Smith; Brandy, Dustin, and Derek Smith; Tony Reed; Tabitha Croswaithe; Chad, Chisam, Caleb, and Cole Rauschuber; Lynzee Harrison; Hunter and Taylor Loch; Connor Ness; Drew, Nick, and Jake Ingram; and Aaron, Justin, and Tyler Rauschuber; 28 great-grandchildren; sister Trudy Felderhoff; and numerous siblings-in-law.
Mr. Rauschuber was preceded in death by: his parents; brother Alvin Rauschuber; and sister Beatrice Hess.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. John Pacheco officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Valley View Cemetery. The Liturgy of the Word will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with visitation to follow.
Mr. Rauschuber’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School or Valley View Cemetery Association.
