Funeral services for Dolores Jean Black Lewis, 83, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Darrell McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. There will be a viewing from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church.
Jean was born September 26, 1932 to David and Anne (Gunnels) Black, and witnessed to being born again in June 1950. She came into the Presbyterian family in April 1986, and left this world for her eternal home on July 30, 2016.
Jeans's professional life was spent with the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Worth and Keller, but from the time of her conversion, her real life was her church, her family, and in service for her Lord.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by: her parents and step-parents, David and Dorothy Black, and Anne and Ted Lewis; sister, Donalita Black; brother, Wilbur Matthews; daughter, Joy Beth Huddleston; step-son, Jay Steven Cain; and two husbands, Guinn R. Hall and James L. Cain.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by: her husband, Robert T. Lewis, Jr.; one son, Richard Guinn Hall of Fort Worth; six step-children: Doris Jane Cain Hall, Deborah Jean Cain Charles, James Lynn Cain, Robert T. Lewis, III (and wife Mary), Melissa Jane Lewis (Mrs. Carl) Teaff, and James Martin Lewis; six brothers and sisters: Etta Matthews (Mrs. Kenneth) Boggs, Rev. Bill Black (and wife Rose), Faye Black Skeans, Wendell Black (and wife Deann), Mike Black (and wife Jan), and Terry Black (Mrs. Mark) Krebs; one brother-in-law, Frank N. Hall; and four sisters-in-law: Sharon Hall Brixey, Clara Cain Moore, Jones Lewis Vestal, and Jennie Harding Matthews; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
