Gladys Lillian Blalock

Funeral services for Gladys Lillian Blalock, 100, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Huggins officiating and Rev. Jerry Davis assisting. A visitation is scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday in the chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 29, 2016 in Cooper’s Chapel Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Gladys passed away August 24, 2016 in Gainesville. She was born August 17, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant, to Seaborn and Louise Wofford Wilbanks. She was always active in her church. She enjoyed quilting and gardening and never turned down a chance to play Bridge or Dominoes ‘42’.

Mrs. Blalock is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Louise and Bill Wisdom of Valley View; daughter-in-law Karen Smith of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Robert Wisdom of Plano, Randa Darroch and her husband Kirk of Frisco, Nathan Smith of Sunnyvale, Chad Smith and his wife Terri of Longview; four great-grandchildren.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband Millard Smith; husband Joe Blalock; siblings Simon E. Wilbanks, Shields Wilbanks, Charley Wilbanks, Faine Wilbanks; sons Max Ray Smith and M. Charles Smith, Jr.
