Bessie Marie Brinkley

Funeral services for Bessie Marie Brinkley, 84, of Gainesville, are set for 10:00 AM Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Gourley officiating. Burial will follow in the New Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.

Bessie was born on September 29, 1932 in Gainesville to Burt and Effie (Mabe) Childress. She passed away on October 25, 2016 in Gainesville.

Bessie is survived by her son Earl Brinkley and his wife Polly of Gainesville; daughter Sue Nelson and her husband Marty of Rowlett; son Jimmy Brinkley of Gainesville; son Everett Brinkley of Gainesville; son Tony Brinkley of Gainesville; daughter Tina Lutkenhaus and her husband Troy of Muenster; son Darrell Brinkley and his wife Georgie of Surprise, AZ; 22 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother George Childress of Paris; and brother Oscar Turnham Jr. and his wife Vicky of Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Oscar Turnham Sr.; husband Leon Brinkley; sister Shirley Burks; brother Charles Childress; daughter Vickie Brinkley; and grandson Waylon Nelson.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Brinkley, Chad Brinkley, Walker Nelson, Clay Brinkley, Matt Beaver, and Devon Brinkley. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Brinkley, Colton Brinkley, Ryan Brinkley, Josh Brinkley, and Anthony Brinkley.
