Judith Merle Bond, 81, of Gainesville, passed away October 25, 2016 in Gainesville.
Judy was born October 17, 1935 in Gainesville to Carlton Dennis and Susie Gertrude (Moore) McCann. She was a member of Gainesville High School’s graduating class of 1954 and then attended business school in Dallas. Judy married Loran Merle Bond on May 12, 1956 and the couple moved to Lake Jackson in 1960. Mrs. Bond worked for Sullair, Bob Schmidt Mfg. Co., and Prime Equipment, from where she retired.
Survivors include: daughter Shannon Bond Dikeman and husband Jeff of Auburn, KS; son George Bond and wife Dawn of Gainesville; daughter Gail Newton of Denton; grandchildren: Stephanie Dikeman Watts, Mackenzie Dikeman, George Bond II (Tina), Emily Mitchell (Mike), Joe Hoedebeck, Laura Lawhon, and Jennifer Belleau (Steve); great-grandchildren: Grayson, Beckham, George III, and William; sister Mary Gladfelter of Pearland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one brother, and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. There will also be visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29 at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, with a graveside service following at 11:30 a.m. in Restwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bond’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.
