Jean Troop

Graveside services for Velma Jean Troop, 90, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Valley View Cemetery with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Troop passed away October 26, 2016 in Gainesville.

Jean was born June 16, 1926 in Bennington, OK to Doc and Rebecca (Olson) Weathers. She taught school for 39 years in Oklahoma and Texas.

Survivors include: son Scott Troop of Gainesville; granddaughters: Sheena Troop and Macey Troop of Austin; and sister Freeda Stubblefield of Oklahoma City, OK.

Mrs. Troop was preceded in death by: husband Gerald Troop; son Robert Gregg Troop; sisters: Oma Jackson and Christina Sluder; and brother David Weathers.
