Shirley Ann Shannon

Shirley Ann Gaddie-Shannon, 73, of Whitesboro, went to meet her Lord and Savior on October 30, 2016 after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.

She was born on November 23, 1942 in Roswell, New Mexico to Omar and Myrtle Nadine (Huey) Tackett. Her family joked about her being left by aliens.

Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, friend, and granny who left a lasting impression on all that she came in contact with. Shirley will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Shirley is survived by her husband Earl Shannon; son Ronny Gaddie and his wife Susan; son Randy Gaddie and his wife Tracy; daughter Rhonda Murphy and her husband Wesley; step-son Kenneth Shannon; step-son Earl Dean Shannon; grandchildren Crissy and Debra Edwards, Tonya Gaddie, Jenny and Victor DeHoyos, Keesha and Armando DeHoyos, Shannon and Johnny Lopez, Cody and Anna Gaddie, Lynsi Krug, Rachel Gaddie, Maekayla Gaddie, and Rusty and Rebecca Gaddie; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Ellen Jackson; sister Helen Simmons; sister Betty Baker; and her two fur babies Mikey and Susie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Raymond Gaddie; and grandson Randy William Ray Gaddie.

A celebration of life will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
