Funeral services for Joe Ann Leggett are set for 3:00 PM Thursday, November 3, 2016 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Fr. Jeff Stubbs officiating. A visitation will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Joe Ann Leggett, 86, of Gainesville, passed away October 31, 2016 in Gainesville.

Joe Ann was born December 6, 1929 in Nacogdoches, TX to Mac and Jimmie (Nance) McKewen. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School and received a Master’s degree in education from Stephen F. Austin University. She retired from teaching after more than 40 years.

Mrs. Leggett is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Warren Martin of Lott, TX; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Brenda Leggett of Gainesville; daughter Rachael Martin of Palestine, TX; 6 grandkids; 5 great-grandkids.

Joe Ann was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Leggett; son Michael Leggett; her parents.
