Geraldine Elzy

Graveside services for Geraldine (Gerri) Elzy, 79, of Gainesville, of Woodbine, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2016 in the Nelson Grove Cemetery with Pastor Tom Patzer officiating. A visitation will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Elzy passed away November 1, 2016 in Gainesville. She was born on February 16, 1937 in Tullahoma, TN to James Monroe and Mildred Irene Prince Nelson.

Momma loved her family. She’s a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to sing and cared deeply for her dogs (fur babies). She worked in nursing most of her life. She also help dad with their painting business and managing sports bars.

Gerri is survived by her husband Kenneth Richard Elzy, Sr. of Gainesville; son Kenneth R. Elzy, Jr. of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law Tommy L. and Kay Elzy of Sherman; son and daughter-in-law Michael W. and Ester Elzy of Melissa; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and James Monk, Sr. of Gainesville; daughter Debbie Maxwell of Howe; son Tony D. Elzy of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
