Funeral services for Raymond Allen Cash, 82, of Denton, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Cheryl Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
At his home, The Vintage, in Denton, Ray passed peacefully in his sleep on November 5, 2016.
Born in Fort Worth on May 27, 1934 to Walter Allen Cash and Winnie Mae (Hogan) Cash, Ray attended R.L. Paschal High School and pursued his love of baseball. He played Minor League ball as a pitcher and talked often of spring training in Florida. He was an avid sports fan, always able to tell you any statistic of his beloved Texas Rangers team and cheering for his Cowboys.
Having grown a successful career in graphic arts and technical service, Ray worked for General Dynamics, Texas Instruments and General Binding Corp., where he retired in 1996.
Ray loved the country; the land, the cattle, the horses. A rodeo cowboy in his younger years, he owned a western leather business handcrafting belts and tack. Country music was his passion and he was a skilled guitarist and pianist.
Survivors include: daughter Brenda Byas of Valley View; daughter Carolyn Sharp and husband Larry of Valley View; grandchildren: Krista Raye Byas, Katie Smith, and Bridgette Sharp; great-grandson Zayne; and sister Mary Alyne Wright of Granbury.
