Larry Royce Amoroso

Funeral services for Larry Royce Amoroso, 74, of Gainesville are scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Way, James Baldwin son-in-law, and Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.

Larry passed peacefully in his sleep Monday, November 21, 2016.

Larry “Papa Grouch” was a wonderful husband, he was great provider and his first priorities was his wife Carolyn and their children. He was a good father and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

He attended Crossroads Baptist church.

He was born in Gainesville, Texas on June 12, 1942 to Ray Amoroso and Eva Mae Arnold Amoroso. Larry attended Gainesville schools, and was a life-long welder and retired from Trinity Industries.

He married the love of his life, Carolyn Joy Young on February 27, 1970 and is survived by his wife of Gainesville, sons Clark Dishman Jr and spouse Lanna, Scott Dishman and spouse Cindy; Daughters: Kim Ferrell and spouse Bryan, Shelli Baldwin and spouse James, Traci Skinner and spouse Kenneth, Wanda Myers and spouse Steve; Siblings: sisters Diane McMahan, Kathy Culp, Lisa Amoroso; brothers Tony Amoroso and spouse Joanie, Elgin Amoroso Jr.; Larry known as “Papa Grouch by his 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by: his parents; brother; Mike Amoroso; sisters: Raye Dale Owen, Rocky Broyles, and Mary Luna.

Pallbearers are his grandsons; Clark Dishman III (Trey); Joshua Baldwin; Daniel Dishman, James Ferrell, Taylor Dishman, Steven Dishman and Travis Skinner.
