Gail Johnson Roane
Funeral services for Gail Johnson Roane, 68, of Valley View are scheduled for 10am on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Valley View. Interment will follow the service at the Valley View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, January 4th at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville.
Mrs. Roane passed away on December 31st, 2016 in Valley View.
Gail was born January 10th, 1948 in Gainesville to Ernest R. and Sally T. (Carter) Johnson. She was raised in Gainesville and in 1968 married John O. Roane in Gainesville. The couple resided in Gainesville until 1969 when they relocated to Del Rio, Texas when John began active duty with the Air Force. From there they traveled to many duty locations around the world until John’s retirement in 1989 when they settled in Valley View. Gail began her teaching career in Valley View and taught in Valley View and Gainesville until her retirement in 2008. Gail was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Valley View where her joy was bringing children to know Christ. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and loved serving others.
Survivors include her husband John O. Roane, daughter Cindy Chadwick and husband Bill, son JD Roane and wife Kay Lyn, and grandchildren including Tyler, Mackenzie, Reagan and Logan Roane and Will and Wes Chadwick; brother Phil R. Johnson and wife Shirley and sister Brenda Johnson Haygood and husband Wayne.
Mrs. Roane was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cornelia Ann Johnson.
