John (Jack) Riley Evans, III

It is with great sorrow that I say goodbye to "My Jack". He passed away on Jan 18th at home in the loving arms of his wife.

Jack was born Nov. 28, 1937 to Chrys and John R. Evans, Jr. He graduated from Laneria High School where he lettered in all four sports each year. Upon completing of high school, he was offered a football scholarship to the University of Texas in Austin. He majored in in Fine Arts which the football team made fun of him for being an artist but soon they realized he could play football and really good. Upon completion of college he worked in the advertising/graphics design business for a number of years. Then in 1972 he and his future bride opened their own company called Unigraphics, Inc. They had a successful business for 36 years until his retirement in 2008.

Jack was a creator in many ways. He was known for his ability to turn "found objects" into beautiful pieces of art. He was drafted into the U. S. Army during the Bay of Pigs crisis which was thankfully avoided. He was the commander of his troop due to his leadership qualities.

Jack was a lover of animals, especially dogs. He would go to the park near his house with tennis balls to write in his beautiful handwriting the dogs name for their owners. He took great pleasure in this.

Jack is survived by his loving bride (as he preferred to call her) Bonnie Lynch Evans and his three children, John (Jay) Riley Evans, IV, Dana Ann Evans and Shelby Evans Annunziato. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Jack was a founding member of the Gleneagles Country Club and the Club flew their flag at half-mast upon of hearing of his death. He would have been so proud of that. > > Thee will be a memorial service at a later date.
