Emma Jean Hamilton

A memorial service for Emma Jean Smithey Dyer Hamilton, 86, of Gainesville, is set for 2:00 PM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Real Life Church in Gainesville. The family will receive guest following the service.

Emma was born on February 15, 1930 in Era to Willie Bob and T. Eddie (McPherson) Smithey. She passed away on February 13, 2017 in Gainesville.

Emma worked as a waitress at many area restaurants, and loved to go dancing.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Ott and her husband Bruce; daughter Becky Dyer; daughter Betty Vermillion and her husband Kyle; son Jeff Hamilton and his wife Rhonda; son Tim Hamilton; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Ellen Ripple.;

Emma was preceded in death by her son Bobby Glen Dyer; son William Cecil Dyer; and daughter Brenda Jean Welch.
