Megan Elizabeth Turbeville

The Funeral Mass for Megan Turbeville, 28, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. John Pacheco and Fr. Bryan Ketterer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24, with Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m., at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Megan passed away February 19, 2017 in Dallas.

Megan was born October 7, 1988 in Denton. She attended Saint Mary School in Gainesville, graduated from Gainesville High School and earned an Associate’s Degree at North Central Texas College. Megan graduated cum laude from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches with a major in English and minor in Secondary Education.

At an early age, Megan felt the call to tutor peers. She continued to help others by tutoring at Gainesville Middle School, NCTC and others in need. It was her dream to teach high school English and be a track coach.

Megan had an active interest in theatre and participated in NCTC Drama, Butterfield Stage and Lamp-Lite theatre in Nacogdoches. She was a member of the Gainesville Lions Club. Her hobbies included playing guitar, listening to music, reading, acting, playing sports and spending time with family and friends.

Megan was employed by NCTC and First State Bank.

Her contagious smile and resolute positivity will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include: parents Tim and Mary (Schmidlkofer) Turbeville of Gainesville; brother Justin Turbeville and wife Shara of Livingston; brother Benjamin Turbeville of Gainesville; niece Jamie Turbeville of Livingston; friend Mark Rhoudes of Gainesville; grandparents Leroy and Rosina (Hess) Schmidlkofer of Gainesville; and numerous other beloved family members and friends.

Megan was preceded in death by: grandparents Ben and Mary Ellen (Leonard) Turbeville.

Megan’s cousins will be serving as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School and the NCTC Foundation.
