Jeanne Cartwright

Jeanne joined her late husband Richard on February 21st, less than a year after he died and whom she missed too much.

Jeanne was born on Nov.30, 1929 in Dublin Texas to Floyd and Ethel Tudor. She grew up in Gainesville where she met and married Richard and raised 4 children.
Jeanne graduated from Gainesville High School and went to college at Abilene Christian .

She worked at the Gainesville Daily Register for many years prior to the birth of her children then later went to work for the Chamber of Commerce as an executive assistant. While there she planned and worked on events to promote businesses in Gainesville.

She was an active member of Soroptimist Club, serving as President twice. In addition to charity work, she enjoyed her bridge club, visiting her children and grandchildren in other states and going to the family property in the East Texas pines.
She is survived by Jo Lynn Cartwright of Dallas, Paula Sue Cartwright of Gainesville, Richard Bryan Cartwright and wife Becky of Kirbyville, TX. and Lon Brady Cartwright of Dallas. In addition, grandsons Benjamin Cartwright Mullen and wife Stacy of Denver,Co., grandson Richard Brady Cartwright and wife Katie of Dallas and her new great granddaughter, Emmie Jeanne who was named for her great grandmother. Watson, her black Lab won’t know what to do as she was her body guard.

Our mother was the most purely sweet, good person that ever lived. She was the love of our Dad’s life and adored by all of us. No matter what we did that we shouldn’t have done, she loved us unconditionally. To disappoint her was worse than any punishment.
To her dear friends, especially Georgia Wolf and Mary Lance, you not only looked after her but entertained her and made sure she was never lonely.

We would like the thank the superb care and services offered by the people at Hospice Plus, especially Jeanette, for the extraordinary efforts all of them made to keep our mother comfortable and hold our hands through the end. Gratitude and love to her nurses from Home Health Care, Tammie and EJ, aid Twyla and her physical therapist. Most especially we will be forever grateful to our sister Sue, who moved from Colorado to be with and take care of Mother. She truly made the last year of her life a good one and no one could have done it better.
If friends desire, the family would request donations in Mother’s name be directed to Hospice Plus or the Medal of Honor program in Gainesville.

As much as we are grieving, our hearts are lightened to know that she is once again with the man she has loved for most of her 87 years. The romance can now continue.
