Blanche Luttmer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Blanche Irene (Edmunds) Luttmer, 91, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. John Pacheco officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Luttmer passed away February 28, 2017 in Gainesville.

Blanche was born February 16, 1926 in Gainesville to James Thorman and Hattie Cora (Meise) Edmunds. She married Joseph John “Joe” Luttmer on February 5, 1946. Mrs. Luttmer retired from Gainesville State School where she was a Resident Advisor. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a Girl Scouts Den Mother for many years. Family was most important to Mrs. Luttmer, and it was her time spent with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she cherished most.

Survivors include: daughter Cathy Langley and husband John of Enterprise, AL; daughter Becky Bryant and husband Donald of Valley View; son Johnny Luttmer and wife Glee of Fort Worth; daughter Lorrie Geray and husband Joe of Gainesville; daughter Donna Kearns and husband Charlie of Justin; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mrs. Luttmer was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Joe Luttmer; granddaughter Amy Dawn Kirkpatrick; grandson Dustin Kyle Butts; granddaughter Laura Langley; three sisters; and one brother.

The family would like to acknowledge Cristal Huggins (Mrs. Luttmer’s first granddaughter and caregiver) for her love and attention shown to Mrs. Luttmer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
