Betty Lois Shaw

Graveside services for Betty Lois Shaw, 84, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 8 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shaw passed peacefully from Earth on April 6, 2017 in Gainesville.

Betty was born the youngest of ten children on February 25, 1933 in Davis, OK to William J. and Della (Smith) Burris. The family moved to Chowchilla, CA in 1945 and it was here Betty graduated high school. On a trip to Texas she met B.P. Shaw and the couple were married on August 31, 1951 in Gainesville. Betty and Paul had three children: Ronnie, David, and Brenda. Mrs. Shaw was a longtime member of Broadway Church of Christ and Commerce St. Church of Christ in Gainesville.

Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by: her parents; husband of 53 years, Paul; son Ronnie; six brothers: Norman, S.D., Harold, Vernon, Johnny, and Lindell; and two sisters: Wilma Hinchey and Charlene Shaw.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law David and Cindy Shaw of Denison; daughter Brenda Shaw of Gainesville; granddaughter Stacy Greenwood of Sherman; sister Wanda Faria of Chowchilla, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
