Funeral services for Robert J. Jobe Jr., 77, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jobe passed away May 19, 2017 in Gainesville.

Bob was born January 31, 1940 in Covington, KY to Robert J. and Shirley (Allan) Jobe Sr. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Jobe married Lydia Magaña on October 20, 1978 in Denton. He retired from American Airlines following 35 years of employment. Mr. Jobe will be most fondly remembered as a loving husband and father.

Survivors include: wife Lydia Magaña Jobe of Gainesville; son Bobby Jobe of Gainesville; daughter Kelly Jobe of Sanger; daughter Casey Kendall of Chattanooga, TN; mother-in-law Frances Magaña of Krum; sister-in-law Dolores Ritz and husband Joe of Denton; sister-in-law Mary Winborn and husband Chuck of Birmingham, AL; brother-in-law Junior Magaña of Krum; brother-in-law Manuel Magaña of Sanger; his beloved dogs PeeWee and Lucy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Jobe was preceded in death by: his parents; brother James A. Jobe; and father-in-law Angel Magaña.
