Beverly Darlene Mordecai

Beverly Darlene Lucas Mordecai, 70 of Valley View, TX passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

Beverly was born in California to Herbert Lucas and Lillian Mae Reed. She had been a beautician for 30 plus years. Beverly spent most of her time caring for her animals and farm, serving her community, and spending time with friends and family. She was also a Real Estate Broker. Beverly was active with the Mountain Springs Community Center, serving in multiple roles on the board including a stint as president. She had also previously served on the water board for many years.

Beverly is preceded in death by her mother, Lillian (Reed) Lucas; her father, Herbert Lucas; and her husband, Marshall Wayne Mordecai.

Beverly is survived by her children James “Mickey” Cheaney of Valley View, TX as well as Steven Mordecai and his wife Dana of Crossroads, TX; grandchildren Jamie Raquel Stout and husband Michael, James Cheaney and wife Calley, Marshall Mordecai, and Emily Mordecai; great grandchildren Ace Morgan, Nate Cheaney, Jaylyn Logan, Alex Patton, Jordyn Stout, Lindsey Patterson, and Elizabeth Patterson.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the nurses involved in caring for Beverly. Also, we would like to thank the community for all their help and support during this time.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, July 16th at the Mountain Springs Community Center.
