Troy Long, 90, of Highland Village, entered the presence of the Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Highland Village. He was born on September 23, 1926 in Gainesville, son of James Henry Long and Lela Bullard Long.
Troy was a member of the Baptist faith, a 32nd degree Mason, and Shriner. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. Troy was a printer and retired from Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack Haden Long.
Left to love and cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years Helen Elizabeth (Betty) Nichols; children and spouses: Roslyn & Gary McGowan of Lewisville, Rhonda & David Collier of Sulphur Springs, and Terry & Lisa Long of Highland Village; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
A Masonic graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, with Pastor Cliff Feeler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
