John "Sonny" Smith

A memorial service for John “Sonny” Smith will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with Rev. Tonja King officiating.

Mr. Smith passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Gainesville at the age of 74.

Sonny was born May 21, 1943 in Gainesville, to Austin Lee and Alice Harberger Smith. He worked at Weber Aircraft/Zodiac for 39 years.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter Teresa Rohrer of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Brenda Smith of Gainesville; daughter Whitley Smith of Gainesville; grandchildren Melissa Rohrer; Tanner Goodman; Trent Smith; Alec LeFever.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carolyn, and his siblings.
