Lois Flanagan

February 21, 1927 — September 29, 2017

Iva Lois Flanagan, 90, from Whitesboro, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29, 2017. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

Lois was born on February 21, 1927 in Jean to Raymond Edward Goldsmith and Ena Delilah (Clifton) Goldsmith. She was the seventh of eleven children.

Lois married Glen Aubra Flanagan on October 24, 1949. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, loving aunt, and loyal friend.

She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She enjoyed traveling with her "girlfriends", visiting with numerous family members and being involved in her grandchildren's activities. She was an avid bowler until she was 88 years of age.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband Glen Flanagan; and son-in-law Roy Neu.

She is survived by her daughter Glenda Neu; son Rick Flanagan and his wife Starla; son Rodney Flanagan and his wife Jennifer; brother Johnie Goldsmith and his wife Joyce; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Her family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. Funeral services will follow the next day at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Goldsmith, Danny Goldsmith, Allen Goldsmith, Teddy Goldsmith, Tommy Goldsmith, Harold Salter, Terry Patterson, and Tony Patterson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Alexander, and Donald Alexander.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Home Hospice of Cooke and Grayson County; Renaissance Care Center; and Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Memorial contributions may be to Home Hospice of Cooke and Grayson County.
