Bill Pate

A memorial service for Bill Pate, 89, of Gainesville, will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Langley officiating.

Bill was born on May 26, 1928 in Oilton, Oklahoma to William Nelson Pate Sr. and Martha Viola (Mosley) Pate. He passed away on October 3, 2017 in Denton.

In 1947, Bill went to work for Magnolia Petroleum Company, which later became Mobil Oil Corporation. He was with Mobil for 40 years. On October 10, 1949 he married the love of his life, Louise Alderson, and together they had two daughters, Carla and Gina.

He is survived by his daughter Carla Pate of Dallas; daughter Gina Brule and her husband Al of Sanger; grandson Dustin Pate Jarvis and his wife Monique; and great-granddaughters Jizelle and Gia Jarvis.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Louise; parents; sister Lilly LueVenia Gleason; sister Clara Mayes; brother Bruce Pate; and brother Roy Edward Pate.
